Wrongly imprisoned whistle-blower Rachel Pierce would rather take her chances with her court appeal than accept her place as the first Interstellar Bride destined for the Colony. She's stubborn and determined to seek justice—and her freedom—on Earth...but her mates are not willing to risk her life or her future on a system they believe to be both primitive and corrupt.
Maxim of Prillon Prime fought ten long years in the Hive wars. Captured and tortured with his second, Ryston, they escaped only to be rejected by their own people and condemned to life on the Colony with the other "contaminated" cyborg warriors. As leader of Sector 3, it's Maxim's duty to set an example for his warriors and summon a bride. When she refuses transport, he can't allow her rejection to demoralize an entire planet of battle hardened but jaded warriors. Maxim and Ryston transport to Earth where they decide she's theirs and a maximum security human prison will not keep them apart.
Getting Rachel to the Colony is only the first challenge they will face. Convincing their beautiful mate to surrender to not one, but two dominant warriors is another. Even if they can win her love, a new evil is rising on the Colony and someone close to Maxim will be its first victim. Maxim will be its second, unless Rachel's love and relentless pursuit of the truth proves strong enough to save him.
Surrender To The Cyborgs Interstellar Brides® The Colony Book 1 eBook Grace Goodwin
I read a lot of books and this one was pretty good. Good characterization. It could have used more pages, I think. What was happening with the illness and the men's families could have been given more story. Overall I liked it. Spoiler: One thing that was really difficult for me to get through was the public claiming at the end. Not because it was bad or poorly written, but because I personally don't do exhibitionism at all, and it took me putting the book down and picking it back up multiple times to get through those 5 or so pages. It made the climax of the book not as fun for me to read. But that's my own hard limit and if you don't have a problem with exhibitionism then you'll probably find the ending very satisfying. Even considering that I know that public claiming happens in at least one other book, they were good enough for me to still want to read the rest of the series (this is the first one I've read).Product details

Surrender To The Cyborgs Interstellar Brides® The Colony Book 1 eBook Grace Goodwin Reviews
I enjoyed this story very much. I liked the outlook into the other colonists on the planet. I'm curious to find out if the Hive is getting closer. One complaint I have is with the book cover. The men do not match. Maxim is described as dark while Rsyton is golden. Using Photoshop along with attention to detail would help with any future covers.
I liked the more consensual sex compared to some of the others, where invasive sexual response testing is coerced or forced, and objecting earns the first spanking in the story. This is the pattern of the earliest books.
Maxim the primary mate, is a base governor on the Colony, where cyborg-tainted veterans end up. He and his second rescue the heroine before she's targeted in prison... he breaks some rules about Brides.
He and Ryston are gentler with Rachel than other mates in the Prillon warrior bride program. I appreciated more affection and less rough/bondage/domination activity. Sweeter story.
Note - sex is still DP, anal, oral, traditional positions. Caring, responsive, female affirming. Between matched mates only.
No drug use, drinking, swearing other than sex words, no casual killing, no degradation.
The scary villain is revealed at the end, and impacts the next story a lot. Best read the cyborg books in order.
Buckle up and enjoy the ride!
Rachel was a biochemist researcher on Earth. Her studies on a drug were buried and the drug was released . Hundreds of people died. Rachel became a whistle blower about the drug but her company framed her. She was sentenced to jail for years but her lawyer recommended she get tested for the alien bride program. She is found to be an almost perfect match for Maxim, the governor of Colony 3. Rachel doesn't want to be a Prillion bride. She wants to stay and clear her name.
Maxim and his second Ryston get the news that the first bride for the Colony has been found but they need to go to Earth to rescue her. Rachel's lawyer has heard that a hit has been placed on her and the judge has ruled that Rachel must go back in the general population. She would be killed in less than a week. Maxim and Ryston rescue Rachel but they have to explain the danger she is in. Rachel agrees to go with them but she is hesitant to commit to the mating.
I really enjoyed Maxim and Ryston. They have had a bad time of it. They were warriors who fought bravely and were captured by the enemy who made modifications on them turning them into cyborgs. Their own people were horrified by their changes and wanted then killed or exiled. They can't believe that a woman can ignore their modifications. This is a great book with fantastic world building.
First let me reface my review with the fact that I have on my 14 of her books and one anthology with a story by Grace Goodwin. Up until this year I seldom did any reviews, but I read a item by an author stating how they rely on reviews to get readership; and therefore, an income to continue writing stories. So, this year, especially the second half of the year, I have reviewed nearly every book that I have read (150+). Grace, I apologize for my ignorance of what these reviews mean to you... and THANK YOU for trusting me with an ARC (I already had that book, too..It's book #1)
As with all ARCs, the choice to provide a review and what to place in the review is solely at the reader's discretion. The opinions given here are ALL MINE. I ADORE HER BOOKS... I wouldn't have 15 of them if I didn't. Now, on to my review.
Rachel Pierce is at the Interstellar Brides Program Processing Center experiencing another bride's mating encounter. Hmmmm sizzling and erotic. Rachel gets so involved that she feels like she is the bride and has a fantastic orgasm, screaming out her pleasure. Warden Egara had to shout several times to get Rachel to stop screaming her pleasure. She wakes up still at the Processing Center, still wearing a gray testing gown. She is grateful that it is not one of the ugly orange prison pants. Warden Egara informs Rachel that a match has been made and it is one that is unusually compatible at 99% with a Prillon warrior. She lets Rachel know that she once had two Prillon warrior mates, but they were killed, so instead of picking out a new set of mates, she loved her so much that she returned to Earth, instead.
Rachel lets Warden Egara know that she does not want to be an interstellar bride, she wants to appeal her 25 year conviction for supposedly having falsified data resulting in the deaths of more than 400 ill people. Her attorney will file an appeal, but in the meantime he signed her up for the bride's program. She tell the warden that evidence was planted on her and that an appeal should exonerate her. Unfortunately, she is in a maximum security prison filled with the worst of the worst. Most are there with life sentences. Currently she is in solitary confinement. But in three days she will be placed in the general population and her attorney already knows that a hit has been placed to kill her. For the prisoners, one one murder, will not increase their sentence and they received something to do the job. Rachel was able to slip a flash drive with evidence that should exonerate her, but by hen she would be dead.
Warden Egara tells her that she is very lucky. She was matched with the Governor of Base 3, Prillon Colony and his second, a Captain. Rachel is upset. She didn't want even one alien let alone two! Egara let her know that all the data from her testing was recorded and filed in her record. If you choose to be a bride, all charges will be dropped.
She retires to her isolation cell and realizes that even if she is acquitted, no lab will hire her. What to do? She's innocent and wants to see the culprits responsible for those deaths arrested. Will she live long enough to see herself vindicated?
Warden Egara contacts the Governor of the Prillon colony and explains their mate's dire circumstances. Egara lets them know that she believes that Rachel is innocent, but it will be too late.
"Your going to have to come to Earth and break her out of prison. Maxim, she is your mate! How will we know her, they ask Egara. You just will." They do, and even Rachel feels a strange affinity towards them as they look into her cell. When they break into her cell and hold on to her and say"
"TRANSPORT", all Rachel can think of is Star Trek. She and her mates are transported to the Interstellar Brides Center. Rachel believes her life was forfeit and attaches a black thin collar on her neck. Suddenly, she can feel their emotions and they hers. They place her in a pool of bright blue water that is warm and soothing. She soon blacks out and awakens on the Prillon Colony.
This story has a creepy physician, a traitor, many jealous unmatched warriors. Lots of sexy adventures for the three of them. At the end, we do get our HEA! 5 stars FROM ME! (I would not have purchased the 15 books by Grace Goodwin if I did not think her an Exceptional writer. Now, I must reread the rest of the 14 books and write reviews on them too. ONLY FAIR, yes?
